Kwame sells ice cream cones at the county fair. He has to rent the equipment for $26 and spend $0.43 on ingredients for each cone. How many ice cream cones must he sell at $1.20 each in order to make a profit? Write an inequality that represents how many ice cream cones must be sold to make a profit. Step by step please?

$26 is a fixed cost so we can let it be the constant the cost of total ice cream sold = 0.43x the revenue of total ice cream sold = 1.2x So to make a profit, total cost < total revenue therefore 26 + 0.43x < 1.2x 26 < 0.77x x > 33.76 :D
