It's a rectangular prism.  All surfaces are rectangles.

For starters, the Total Surface Area is greater than the Lateral Surface Area.  Please throw out choice A immediately.

The next step would be to take a good, close look at the first hint.  You should have a good handle on the area of a rectangle.  The "lateral" surface area is everthing that isn't the top or the bottom.

Why do you need a formula?  Reason it out.  The rectangular prism has six faces.  Which ones are lids or bottoms and which ones are on the sides?
