A 200 g steel ball hangs on a 0.75m long string. The ball is pulled sideways so that the string is at 60 degree angle, then released. At the very bottom of its swing the ball strikes a 1 kg steel block that is resting on a friction less table. Assuming the collision to be perfectly elastic, (a) determine the speed of the ball after the collision. (b) To what angle does the ball rebound? (c) What quantities are conserved in the collision?
