The problem is: -3 with a small 2 + ( (5 (8-6) ) / 2 + 45 ) / 5 I think by a "small" you mean an exponent: (-3)^2 + ( (5 (8-6) ) / 2 + 45 ) / 5 Do the innermost parentheses first: (-3)^2 + ( (5 (2) ) / 2 + 45 ) / 5 Then keep doing the inner parentheses: (-3)^2 + ( 10 / 2 + 45 ) / 5 Keep going: (-3)^2 + ( 5 + 45 ) / 5 Keep going: (-3)^2 + ( 50 ) / 5 Then do the exponents: 9 + ( 50 ) / 5 Then do division 9 + 10 So I get "19" Hope that helps!
