why is it important to understand the development of gender relations prior to 1750?
Elaborate.
okay like why is it important to understand why women were considered to be subordinate to men and why they only had domestic chores and educating the children while men went out and did the majority of the work for the family and cultivated the fields and stuff
Well, I can tell you that gender relationships prior 1750 were harsh, cruel, and unkind. You can compare those to our current gender relations, and especially the Women's Rights Movement in the 1900's. It'll give you a good understanding how far we have come in society to realize all women are equals. Women played a big role in the early 1700's. It was their job to cook for the family, raise children, and keep the house clean. Women took more intellectual fields like teaching children to read and write. Men were more of brutes in those times, so they usually would supply the food, be the boss at the local factory or market, and men were also dominate in politics in those times. Women were given orders and task by men. Men relied on women to cook the food once they've retrieved it, clean the house and take care of the chores because men are usually the ones who build the house, and women were given orders from political leaders such as accounting and filing papers. Even though men took the dominate brutes positions, women were still a vital part to the system. Without them, it would have fallen apart. Men and women equally relied on each other, even though most people ignorantly ignored the role that the average woman plays in those times. In conclusion, in the 1700's and prior, men and women both relied on each other. Just like Yin and Yang, they both depended on each other, or else everything would fall to chaos.
thank you so much!!!
Anytime. Questions or concerns can be messaged to me @MessageCompass
I would change the very last line to, " Just like Yin and Yang, they are both dependent, because if not, everything would fall to chaos."
