I would have to say all of the above on this one. More specifically, family therapy is geared towards helping people understand how connections between family members influence their thoughts and behaviors. It focuses on the interactions between family members, and if alcohol/drug use is a problem within a family it is dealt with as the family's problem, not the individual's problem. Family therapists see the family as a single unit that is more than the sum of its parts.
