OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey aravind,thanks a lot. 4 ur link,bt in ths question.. ..a piece of work in 9/4 times the earlier one..the number 9/4 ws left by mistake..i hv a doubt tht wht is 12?? is it number of days?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

yes it is number of days

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but the first case time is(12*8)hrs and 2nd case is 30 *6 i.e 180 hrs...so whts the meaning of 9/4 times..

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

earlier , we had 96 working hrs. we easily see 1 man ->96*15 hrs 1 woman-> 96*24 hrs 1 boy -> 96*36 hrs or in 1 hr, each alone, a man does 1/96*15 work woman does 1/96*24 work boy does 1/96*36 work in 2nd case, we have x men(not X-men) ,12 women, 6 boys, 180 hrs. in 180 hrs, a man does 180/96*15 work thus x men do 180*x/96*15 work similarly , 12 women do 180*12/96*24 work and 6 boys do 180*6/96*36 work =>180*x/(96*15) + 180*12/(96*24) + 180*6/(96*36) = 9/4 ans comes out easily to be x=8.. please confirm..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya 8 is in option..so it shud be the correct ans. thanks a lot 4 ur help.

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

you're welcome..main query is did you follow ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya it means work done in 2nd case is 9/4 times the work n 1st case..ths only i had doubt..

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):
