please help, I need the vertex pair of x^2-9. Can someone help me please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got -1,3 does that sound right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The vertex of y=x^2-9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have to graph the equation so I need to know the ordered pair

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does that make since

The ordered pair for the vertex, yeah keep in mind the base graph of this is y=x^2 which has a vertex at (0,0) the -9 on the end of your equation shifts the graph down 9 units, where would the vertex end up?
