H2O + CO2 -----> H2CO3 ----> H+ + HCO3- carbonic acid

The reaction is catalysed by an enzyme called carbonic anhydrase. After it has formed it separates (dissociates) into hydrogen ions (H+) and hydrogen carbonate ions (HCO3-).

Remember that carbohydrates is sugars... No I tend to believe they ask about cellular respiration and photo synthesis. The answer would then look like this:
