A bulb is connected to a battery having a potential difference of 6V. A voltmeter is connected across the bulb. What is the reading on the voltmeter, when the bulb burn out?

6V - No current will flow, but the difference in potential energy per coulomb (voltage) on either side of the bulb will be the battery voltage.
