Well, the area of a triangle is \[A=\frac{bh}{2}\]An equilateral triangle has a height about sqrt 3/2 times the side of the base (this can be found by using the Pythagorean Theorem), so the formula will give us\[A=\frac{bh}{2}=\frac{8(\frac{8\sqrt3}{2})}{2}=32\sqrt3\]Since there are four such sides, multiply by four to get 128 sqrt 3, approx 221.7 ft^2.
