and i hope this is entirely obvious. whatever \(x\) could be, it is the same number on both sides of the equal sign that means that whatever \(x\) is, on the left you have \(12x\) and the same on the right now it is rather unlikely that you can add 32 to a number, subtract 7 from that same number, and get the same answer for both
