OpenStudy (anonymous):

e^x = 3 okay i get that you have to log it on both sides to get Log(e)x=log(3) and then you divide log(3)/Log(e) only i dont what the heck e is and my calculater doesnt have a button for it

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

e stands for exponential.. what base of the log would you prefer to take ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i need the numerical version of e and im solving for x so i dont know

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

see,,when you take log on both sides, you are free to choose any base as per convenience, in this case, lets take your base be 'e' only.. so if base is e, can you tell me value of log e?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.43 i think

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

suppose base is 10, and i ask you the value of log10 ,,what will that be?
