The ordered pair (-1, -1) is a solution of the system -4x + 2y = 2 and x + y = -2. True False its false right?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

jst put in the values!!

OpenStudy (preetha):

Thanks Aravind.

Parth (parthkohli):

Saying that \((-1,-1)\) is a solution is just a weird way of telling someone that the solution is \(x = -1\) and \(y = -1\). Got it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes so i did put them in i think its false

Parth (parthkohli):

I was too lazy to check your answer. A second please :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait it might be true....

Parth (parthkohli):

Hmm... seems like \(-4(-1) + 2(-1)\) IS \(2\) and \(-1 + -1\) IS -2.

Parth (parthkohli):

Yes, it's true :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks peoples for putting up with my stupidity hehe

OpenStudy (preetha):

Dont forget to hand out medals!

Parth (parthkohli):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
