Idea's?
I have to write a personal narrative but I haven't got any idea what to write about. I think this assignment is so hard because english is my worst class. I dislike writing about myself because the instuctions are always like "Tell me about a time when you..." or "Write about how you overcame...". My life is more unintersting than you could imagine so you see my problem right? I haven't overcame anything, I haven't gone through a rough time, and I haven't done anything special. I Don't care if you make up a lie that I could go on and on about for 5 paragraphs either. Please help!

Well, the best books and poetry i've red are not about super-interesting situations or awesome life experiences, it's all about the narrative. There are beautiful and great whole paragraphs in books about a particular train of thought, a description of the clothes in someone's closet (describing personality trough the clothes), a trip to the market or to buy flowers, a visit to a grave, a simple kiss has filled dozens of pages... The thing here is how you tell it, how you use your words, your rhythm, and the expressive qualities of language (such as metaphors, figurate speech, humor, tone, etc...)

Here are some tropes that might help you discover the amazing life behing simple and common things:

Name two of the most significant people in your life and explain why.
What is your stance on religion? Would you affiliate yourself with any?
What band/musician is most important to you? Explain why.
If you could chose a time period to be born in, which one would it be and why?
At what age were you the happiest?
Name five things from your wish list.
Do you read? If so, what are your three favorite books and why?
If you could live anywhere, where would you live and why?
How old do you think you act? Explain.
