Mascots are important to the school and town becaues it represents their pride, and school spirit for there team. It gives them something to parade around in like for sweatshirts, school uniforms etc... Its important to the students because they can chant it during games, or say im a (whatever the mascot is) it helps with competitions. For example say the competiting team are the Devils, and you are making spirit wear for the game, you can put things like crush the devil, and smart sayings to get everyone excited and pumped about that game. I believe if there wasnt a team mascot, kids wouldnt get as excited for there school as they would with a mascot.
