How do I solve: x^2+16x=64 ?? Thanks!

OpenStudy (tamtoan):

use quadratic formula

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hmm yah this one doesn't work out very nicely because of the 64 being positive. Subtract 64 from both sides,\[\huge x^2+16x-64=0\] Then throw it into the quadratic formula as tam mentioned. Understand how to do that?

Got it! :) Thanks a bunch
