Evaluate the expression: v ⋅ w Given the vectors: r = <8, 8, -6>; v = <3, -8, -3>; w = <-4, -2, -6>

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Am I on the right track here? : The equation to be setup is (3)(-4)+ (-8)(-2)+ (-3)(-6) Which equals (-12)+ (16)+ (9) Which equals 22.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if that is v dot w, then yes that's correct

OpenStudy (tamtoan):

how can 4 + 9 = 22 ? :) you miss timing the third number there :)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

oh didn't see the (9), that should be a (18)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wow. That's the part I mess up. /idiot. Sorry about that. So is that literally all there is to this problem?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

its fine, happens to all of us and yes that's all there is to it
