4 ∑ k^2 - how to read this please? thanks k=1

OpenStudy (aravindg):

it is read as summation k=1 to 4 k^2

Parth (parthkohli):

This is a summation notation. I usually read it as the following: ``` The sum of all integer “k”s from 1 to 4 in the function k^2. ```

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's just a shortcut way of writing 1^2 + 2^2 + 3^3 + 4^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops ,, i mean 3^2...

Parth (parthkohli):

Or as @dpaInc said, you can just say it like this: ``` 1^2 + 2^2 ... till ... 4^2 ```
