Can someone please help this is due tomorrow!!!????
1. Which of the following statements is true about gene regulation in prokaryotes? (1 point)Promoters determine whether a gene is expressed. Expressed genes make more DNA. DNA-binding proteins determine whether a gene is expressed. RNA polymerase regulates gene expression 2. A lac repressor turns off the expression of the lac genes by (1 point)binding to the promoter. binding to DNA polymerase. binding to the operator. binding to the lac genes. 3. When E. coli is grown on glucose, and there is no lactose available (1 point)lactose molecules bind to the lac repressor. the lac repressor binds to the operator of the lac operon. RNA polymerase binds to the promoter of the lac operon. the lac genes are transcribed into messenger RNA. 4. What is the function of the operator in an operon? (1 point)Provide a site on the DNA where the repressor can bind and stop transcription. Provide a site on the DNA where RNA polymerase can bind to begin transcription. Code for the repressor protein. Code for the RNA polymerase protein.
@Josuelito can you help its Unit 4 Lesson 13
If you can't also @Danieko
I don't like to send out answers but here are some hints: Q1 There are two true statements. DNA is not made from expressed genes - the process of transcription makes mRNA. The mRNA is made by RNA polymerase but other molecules control whether or not the polymerase is recruited to the promoter. Q2: The operator is where the lac repressor binds Q3: The idea of the lac operon is that it is only switched on when there is lactose but no glucose for the bacteria to use as an energy source. So there should be no lac genes transcribed by the RNA polymerase when there is glucose but no lactose. The only thing that binds is the repressor - it only responds to lactose and as the question states, there isn't any. Q4: the operator is where the repressor binds and stops any transcription
thanks
but if anyone else stills wants to help i sure coud use it
What else can i help you with?
im talking about this questions just to c wat anyone else has 2 say
wat yu need?

Yes. That is correct. @confluxepic @~
