I am having difficulty with this problem. Suppose the modified quota is 9.07. Fill in the blanks, and round your answers to two decimal places. Find the upper quota. I more need the set up than just the answer. (a) Find the lower quota.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would the answer to this be 9?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what is a quota?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

it almost sounds like a stats question; about quartiles .. but i cant be certain :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here is the whole problem : Suppose the modified quota is 9.07. Fill in the blanks, and round your answers to two decimal places. (a) Find the lower quota. (b) Find the upper quota. (c) Find the arithmetic mean of the lower and upper quotas. (d) Find the geometric mean of the lower and upper quotas. (e) Round the given modified quota by comparing it with the arithmetic mean. (f) Round the given modified quota by comparing it with the geometric mean.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

this seems to be a "second part" and we would need the setup for the first part to be able to understand what this question needs

OpenStudy (amistre64):

"The Modified Quota (MQ) for each state is the same as the Standard Quota except that the calculation is done using the Modified Divisor instead of the Standard Divisor." http://www.ctl.ua.edu/math103/apportionment/quick.htm this might be useful for you

OpenStudy (amistre64):

other than that, none of this looks familiar to me
