solve the inequality |2+x|≤5

hero (hero):

Hint: a. |2 + x|≤ 5 b. -5 ≤ 2 + x ≤ 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x is equal to or less than 3, x is less than or equal to -7

hero (hero):

@tpenn, read the message I sent you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its an and equation, correct?

hero (hero):

|2+x|≤5 -5 ≤ x + 2 ≤ 5 -5 - 2 ≤ x ≤ 5 - 2 -7 ≤ x ≤ 3 I'm posting this because @tpenn posted an incorrect answer. The correct way to read this is "x is between or equal to -7 and 3" You can also say `x is greater than or equal to -7` and `x is less than or equal to 3`.
