OpenStudy (kainui):

Distribute everything so that you can collect like terms and then subtract and divide as necessary. I'll help you along, show me where you get stuck.

1x-12>4x-21 can i cross the > sign ?

OpenStudy (kainui):

The only time you switch the > to a < is if you multiply or divide both sides by a negative number. You don't have to memorize it if you can check it yourself, try this: 2<3 multiply both sides by -1 -2>-3 -2 minus 1 is -3, so you know that you have to flip the sign like this.

would the answer for the problem i gave be x<3?

OpenStudy (kainui):

Yep exactly!

-2x+3x-12>4x-21 x-12>4x-21 -3x>-9 x<3
