Expand and simplify logarithm: \[\log_{3} 7x(1-x)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\log_{3}7x(1-x)\] ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i just edited the question as you were typing. that is the problem, yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Remember the log of a product rule \[\log_{3}7x+\log_{3}1-x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am getting EITHER.... \[\log_{3} 7x + \log_{3} (1-x) OR \log_{3} 7 + \log_{3} x + \log_{3} (1-x) \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This was also my first guess... but what about the "7x" ... isn't this also multiplication, which would expand it further?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes i was gonna take it step by step, but you seem pretty good with these. Your second answer is what i would say

Got it! Thanks for the help and reassurance!!
