a store sells a 5 lb box of detergent for $2.25 and a 10 lb box of detergent for $9.75.which size box has the lowest price per pound? show your work please:) thank you

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

To compare, calculate the price per unit of each choice. $2.25 per 5 lb is ($2.25)/(5 lb) = $0.45/lb $9.75 per 10 lb is ($9.75)/(10 lb) = $0.975/lb
