Okay, so what impact did colonization have on Western Europe's development? Or, in English, How did the colonization of America by Western Europe affect it?
Ya might wanna post that in History, not Math :)
Hahaha Probs is that no one is replying to anything in history~~~
ohh lol ok
What course is this for?
Do you happen to know the answer? oh, it's for PreAP World Gepgraphy~~~
*geography
Well, im taking AP European History right now, so i can look in my textbook to see if its there.. gimme a few min
What century is this, do you know?
Oh, cool! Ok! Yeah, that would be awesome! Thanks~~~ uh, I think it's more of an overall thing...the impact it had overall
Idk, it doesn't say specific things in here... I think it's just the effect it had, throughout the years
Hmm.. ok im checking
Like, uh, first it was good, next it was bad, and conditions got worse for this reason, and that makes a big impact on Western Europe now bcos of _______.
Crap.. no sorry cant find anything :( Ill try googling it
Sorry, i cant find anything specific to this problem
:(... sigh~ I couldn't either... do you have an answer yourself that isn't neccessarily textbook based?
Well i guess they became a little more militarily strong, learned from their experience with the colonies in America
Well i'm a bit rusty but specifically colonization brought in commodities that made teh shipping industry boom
They did get a lot of import from the Americas and some income.. not necessarily long term
and commodities industry as well
So... military development??? and....made.. wiat, what are commodities?
cotton from America and Asia made the textile industry boom
commodities are things like spices, silver gold etc.
is there anything a bit more general, also? I dont remember learning this~
this is from APUSH :/
oh~ that would explain it... Anything that you could rmmbr from Pre-Push?
lol unfortunately not
hahaha i c~ I look things up on google and all it gives me are things about the impact on North America, not about the impact on Europe...
something extremely general is that Europe became the largest most powerful economy and military :/
OoO oh!
Well, weren't they powerful even B4?
b4 colonization, I mean.
I think that most of the econ. was in the ottoman/arab area because of the silk route
not a 100% sure on that though
?????
This is what I came across doing a little research online, who know how accurate it is: Because Western Europe controlled resources and trade with their colonies, which helped them become the wealthiest (most developed) region in the world for many years.
oh~ so then what I'm getting from this is that Western Europe became (even more) powerful through the Columbian Exchange... which only existed bcos of the colonies~ right?
yeah
oh wait then why didnt Latin america's mother countries get rich too...? The columbbian exchange was like... (slaves from Africa, right?), Corn and other stuff from US, Spices, cclothes, from Europe, which were also bought from Asian countries, and then they also sold things and traded with Latin America, didn't they?
Spain and Portugal got super rich from the silver and rice plantaions
*silver mines
So then Westrn Europe WASN't(?) the biggest hotshot?Spain and Portugal got super rich because of coloniztion too?
Spain and Portugal are in Western Europe
OoO LoL im so dumb... hahaha thanks!!!
lol np :)
