you roll a number cube 50 times What is the experimental probability of rolling a 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not clear what this is asking what is the probability of rolling one 3 in 50 rolls? at least one 3? how many 3's do you expect to get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the probability you roll a 3 in any one roll is \(\frac{1}{6}\) because dice have six sides (they are called dice, apparently the some puritans object to the word "die" or "dice' because of the association with gambling, and have renamed them "number cubes")

OpenStudy (anonymous):

P ( x = 3) = 1/6 Roll 50 times: 50*1/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is the expected value, but not the probability. question is still unclear

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm pondering about it considering level study of the poster :)

OpenStudy (zarkon):

(number of 3's you got in 50 rolls)/50
