Is \/-----<400 rational or irrational? Explain. Sorry, I tried to do the shape the best I could. The 400 is supposed to be under the line. I got 20.

Do you mean \[\sqrt{400 }\]This 20 and is rational. Suppose you had \[\sqrt{500 }\]That would be irrational, because there is no "nice" number a so that a²=500. In reality, this is a little more complicated, because of the meaning of the word "nice" here...;)
