Help please!! A sixteen-sided number cube has the numbers 1 through 16 on each face. Each face is equally likely to show after a roll. What is the probability that you will roll an even number or an odd prime number? Round to the nearest thousandth. A. 0.063 B. 0.813 C. 0.219 D. 0.875

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

list all the even numbers from 1 to 16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

now list all the prime numbers from 1 to 16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so the set of odd prime numbers is 3, 5, 7, 11, 13 combine this with the set of evens from 1 to 16 to get 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16 There are 13 numbers in this list out of 16, so the probability is 13/16 = 0.8125 which rounds to 0.813

thank you :)
