OpenStudy (anonymous):

find two consecutive even integers such that the smaller added to five times the larger gives a sum of 46. (please help, i'm horrible at word problems)

OpenStudy (raden):

let the smallest number is x and the other (x+2), so representing to algebraic expression, giving us : x+5(x+2)=46 solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says there should be 2 numbers.

OpenStudy (raden):

yes, the first is x and the 2nd is (x+2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh, ok. thanks! this is for my test, so i wanted to be sure. thank you! :)

OpenStudy (raden):

ahhhhh.. it is a test ? :p
