explain how the process of diffusion can be absolutely critical to an athlete?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Diffusion is the movement of molecules from a high concentration to a low concentration, such as across cell membranes. oxygen moves into an organism because its concentration is lower inside than in the environment (air or water); carbon dioxide moves out of an organism because its concentration is higher inside than in the cell.

By giving us more oxygen at our disposal, we can workout longer and harder because this process produces 36 ATP which is more energy
