solve using the substitution method show all work -7x+ y=29 2x+12y=90

OpenStudy (precal):

seems like you have typos

OpenStudy (precal):

why two ys and why 2 equal signs?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats supposed to be + 12y

OpenStudy (precal):

you can use the edit key to fix the typos

OpenStudy (precal):

and the 2 ys

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says that y = 29

OpenStudy (precal):

-7x+y what is that?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Rearrange the first equation to get y = 29 + 7x now, you have a y to substitute for the bottom function. You should have a function consisting of only x's! 2x + 12(29+7x) = 90 combine like terms and solve for x. Once you have your x, plug it into the first equation and solve for y.
