first you can distribute the - *minus* sign -(a+b) = -a-b so, whats -(8x+1) =.... ?

-8x-1

hartnn (hartnn):

good, now you have -2x-8x-1 combine like terms, terms with x example -4x-2x = (-4-2)x = -6x so, what will be -2x-8x =.... ?
