solve I =PRT for P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I/(RT) = P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you know what numbers to plug in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You didn't give us any numbers...

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

PRT means P times R times T or PRT means P times (RT) ------------------------------------------------------- So to isolate P, you have to undo the multiplication of RT. This means that you divide both sides by RT like BluFoot did to get the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the actual answer is I/(RT)=P? im not good at theses types of problems

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes or P = I/(RT) because P is completely isolated on one side

ok thanks
