Write the equation of the line in slope-intercept form with a slope of 3 and a y-intercept of -2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y= mx + c m = slope c = y intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But how do you plug in 3 and a y- intercept of -2? like how do you do the problem over all?

OpenStudy (hba):

m=3 c=-2 y=mx+c Now just plug in the values.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so y=3x+-2 and then is that the answer. I'm sorry but i'm terrible when it comes to math.

OpenStudy (hba):

+ or - sign ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its -2

OpenStudy (hba):

Yeah so write the whole eq and show me again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it's y=3x-2. That's the answer right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thats correct

OpenStudy (hba):

Yeah right :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you. Well I feel stupid, The answer was very obvious.

OpenStudy (hba):

Don't worry :) Just practice as much as you can :) Practice makes perfect .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks again and trust me I will :)

OpenStudy (hba):

Best of luck with that :)
