PLEASE HELP! Find all solutions to the equation. 7 sin2x - 14 sin x + 2 = -5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first break it down to pieces. What do you think is the first step?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

add 2 to the other side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

subtract 2 mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good now go with your order of operations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know this sounds stupid but idk what to do next

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

is that sin^2 x (square x) or sin(2x) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sin^2 x

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

well then its a simple quadratic eqn in sinx let sinx =y make that substitution , then solve for y using quadratic formula or any legit method.. since you know y then you can easily calculate x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use sinx=x then u'll have 7*x^2-14x+7=0 then u'll get answer x=1 sinx=1 nd x=sin^(-1)1
