analyze the various components of Jim Crow legislation and their effects on Southern minorities

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Jim Crow laws basically seperated the South from public facilities to public entertainment like theatres and dining areas. Whites were allowed to eat at certain restaurants, bathrooms and were also allowed specific seats on the public buses. They actually reserved the best for the whites. The majority of the blacks had to enter the bus through the back door. If a "colored" person were to be seen at one of these segregated diners they would get horriblt beaten and food thrown all over them, treated like they were not a part of the human race.
