If df(x)/dx = z, and x=a+b, there is any rule connecting df(x)/da and df(x)/db ?
like df(x)/da +df(x)/db =z, or (df(x)/da)(df(x)/db)=z

i have the suspicion that there isnt enough information... might need to know what f(x) is

I see , I was hoping there was a general rule, as I am building a model and I do not wish to make inferences on f(x) behavior. thanks for the help
