The threats we face today as Americans respect no nation's borders. Think of them: terrorism, the spread of weapons of mass destruction, organized crime, drug trafficking, ethnic and religious hatred, aggression by rogue states, environmental degradation. If we fail to address these threats today, we will suffer the consequences in all our tomorrows." -- President Clinton, 1996 Which of the following U.S. invasions was President Clinton justifying in this quote? Iraq Bosnia Rwanda Afghanistan
Iraq
The invasion of Iraq occurrd in 2003, under President George W. Bush. The invasion of Afghanistan occured in 2001, also under Presideng George W. Bush. The United States has never invaded either Rawnda or Bosnia, however the US under President Clinton did approve of, and contribute the bulk of air support for, an official UN intervention in the Bosnian conflict in 1993-95, in the process of which US warplanes bombed a lot of Serbian targets in Bosnia. Whether you call that an "invasion" or not is a question of semantics. There were no American boots on the ground, but plenty of American JDAMs hit Bosnian soil. There was a genocide in Rwanda in 1994, during the Clinton Administratino, in which some 800,000 Tutsis were murdered, and it remains one of the enduring blots on the Clinton Administration that after such high-minded rhetoric as you are reading here, they did exactly squat about that.
Iraq is wrong, i think it is Rwanda but i am not sure.
Its Bosnia!
Definitely Bosnia. They were putting Muslims into camps and killing Genocide basically finally US bombed but 500+ thousand Serbians, Muslims and some Bosnian's had already died. We were really late with our response!!!!!
