OpenStudy (anonymous):

express the product of (1/2y^2 - 1/3y) and (12y + 3/5) as a trinomial

OpenStudy (zehanz):

This is of the form\[(a+b)(c+d)\] You have to multiply each number between the left pair of parentheses with each number between the right pair of parentheses:\[ac+ad+bc+bd\] This would leave you with 4 terms instead of three! Now if you examine the numbers that are between the brackets in your particular problem, you'll see that two of them are terms with y. This means that after multiplication you can add two terms up, leaving...a trinomial!
