I'm not 100% sure what the right answer is because I'm not a huge Southwest america expert. However, I know that Texas did not own most of the land considering the disputes about some river which sparked the Mexican-American war. I don't think they were loyal to mexico because they just got out of a civil war with them and would soon fall into another war with them. With the way your question if phrased, I think they are talking about texas and not mexico so I don't think texas tried to retake texas by force. So I would GUESS A.
