OpenStudy (lilai3):

Please help! As the number of sides of a regular polygon gets closer and closer to a true circle. The interior angles of any regular polygon can never actually reach 180 degrees. How many sides would a polygon have whose interior angles are exactly 179 degrees?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

180(n - 2) = 179n i think if you use that, you'll find out :)

OpenStudy (aripotta):

n would be the number of sides

OpenStudy (lilai3):

but a circle has no sides

OpenStudy (aripotta):

it's asking for how many sides a polygon would have so that each interior angle is 179 degrees

OpenStudy (lilai3):

i don't get it

OpenStudy (aripotta):

just solve for n and you'll get your answer :/ 180(n - 2) = 179n

OpenStudy (lilai3):

but... idk how to do that.. :( oh i feel so stupid

OpenStudy (aripotta):

distribute the 180 into the parenthesis first. then...solve for n lol.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

|dw:1356671868127:dw| so 360 sides...
