so im doing an inquiry project on sports drinks...what should i do?
In terms of sports drinks, there are a few energy drinks that you might be able to do. Monster Redbull Gator-ade (I think it's spelt like that) Rockstar Sports drinks are usually energy drinks, otherwise, there's Coca-Cola (Which I don't suggest drinking if you're doing sports.)
@Triton Like what should i research about them? like which sports drinks are the best...or is there another topic something relating to this??
You should try to maybe compare the amount of energy given, perhaps some negative side effects or, any study associated with illness involving such drinks. What level, grade, or standard is this?
im in 12th grade ><
like this is my first inquiry project and i really dont know where to start...
If you're doing it for chemistry class, you'd want to do a comparison of the different drinks, the substances that are in them, then perhaps, as a side note (or for extra points) just do a quick study on adverse effects.
Make sure you indicate the different energy amounts per drink.
oh i should get a bunch of differnt kinds of energy drinks and do a comparison
Correct :)
but my teacher wanted to be really deep...i didn't really get by how deep. i thought how would sports drink boost your exercise rather than water
She probably meant she want's an in-depth inquiry. So, you'd probably have to go all out, and do analysis of the effects.
Here's a starting point for you. Work out how much energy is contained in a Monster drink of about 330ml. (coke can size) Then compare the different kinds, and measure which one has the most per ml.
By doing that, you can see which one provides the most energy :)
okay...
so once i find the most energy i can go in dept what compounds are in there
and what each of those compounds do..for example potassium or calcium
Yes, also there is a lot of caffeine and sugar in it, so you might want work out the ratios of those two.
how do i do that?
See if they tell you on the can, the amount of each substance, from there, you can work out the ratios...? have you done molar, or chemical based ratios before?
no...we just started with chemistry and our teachers just telling us to do werid kinds of projects ><
Hahahaha, ok, don't stress about the ratios yet then, just to an energy comparison and a negative and positive effects comparison :)
okay for the energy comparison. should i compare every single one on the nutrition facts?
Yes, you'll score good points for that.
OKay!! Ill do my best!! THank you so much!! you saved my life! better than my high school teacher!!!
Hahaha! No problem :)
Good luck!
