How does meiosis compare with mitosis? A. Meiosis transforms one diploid cell into four diploid cells while mitosis transforms one diploid cell into two haploid cells. B. Meiosis transforms one diploid cell into four haploid cells while mitosis transforms one diploid cell into two diploid cells. C. Meiosis transforms one diploid cell into two diploid cells while mitosis transforms one diploid cell into four haploid cells. D. ill tell u this all somatic (body cells) are diploid, this means the number of chromosomes in a human this would be 46, or can be denoted as 2n. mitosis is the replication of these somatic diploid cells to produce more diploid cells, which contain the same amount of genetic info as the parent cell. meiosis is the process in which gametes (sex cells) are created. this is by reducing the amount of chromosomes (2n or 46 in humans or diploid) to cells that contain half the amount of chromosomes (n or 23 in humans or haploid). this is so that when the two gametes (egg and sperm cells) fuse to create a zygote, the zygote will have the normal amount of chromosomes found in the somatic cell of a human. hope this helped.
