geerky42 (geerky42):

HINT: \(\large a^{-b} = \dfrac{1}{a^b}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

halfe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

half

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it + 1/2 or - 1/2 ?

geerky42 (geerky42):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think positive but im not positive on that (pun intended)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the negative sign on the root does NOT affect the base's sign. It just shifts it above or below the fraction. Of course, if you don't have any fraction, you have a 1 in the denominator.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then it would be positive half right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cause theres no 1 in the denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

precisely!
