Without graphing, tell whether the line containing (6, –3) and (0, –8) is horizontal, vertical, or neither. A. Neither B. Vertical C. Horizontal

hartnn (hartnn):

for vertical lines, the x-coordinates of all points are same for horizontal lines, the y-coordinates of all points are same so, here its..... ?

hartnn (hartnn):

do u see any co-ordinates same for both points here ?

OpenStudy (meilendurcer):

no?

OpenStudy (meilendurcer):

i think it's B though

hartnn (hartnn):

it can't be vertical, all points in vertical line have same x co-ordinates. here its different

OpenStudy (n00bstyle):

What do you conclude when you draw yourself a picture of these coordinates?

OpenStudy (meilendurcer):

C i doubt it's neither

OpenStudy (n00bstyle):

You can use the draw function if you like ;)

hartnn (hartnn):

whats the doubts in it being neither ?

OpenStudy (n00bstyle):

Then tell us what you see

OpenStudy (n00bstyle):

I know it's not allowed, but it still helps you thinking about: The coordinates have DIFFERENT x and y coordinates, so you can conclude that the lines are (...)

OpenStudy (n00bstyle):

*line is
