Logarithms! Wait for image please!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Part c!

hartnn (hartnn):

hint : write \(2=\log_2 2^2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is what I have done so far: log_2 (x - 1)^2 = log_2 4 + log_2 (x+2) (x-1)^2 = 4 + x + 2 x^2 - 3x - 7 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that correct?

hartnn (hartnn):

no....

hartnn (hartnn):

(x-1)^2 = 4 ( x + 2 ) u got how ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh wait is it: (x - 1)^2 = 4x + 8 or am I still wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@hartnn

hartnn (hartnn):

now correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So if I solve that I should be able to get the answer right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thanks! :)

hartnn (hartnn):

yes, welcome ^_^
