Paul has 8 black socks, 4 blue socks and 4 brown socks in his sock drawer. If he randomly takes two socks from the drawer without looking, what is the probability that the two socks are the same color?

I would approach this problem this way: Calculate the probability of selecting two black socks, then calculate the probability of selecting two blue socks, then calculate the probability of selecting two brown ones. Add up each individual probability.
