multiply 2 by all the terms in the parenthesis one by one.
so then it will be 2(p+6)

No. Its (2*p) + (2*4) I hope you can simplify further on your own.

It was already simplified in the beginning. The problem statement should read, "Apply the distributive property to the following expression."
i have to simpliy it
2*p is just 2p and 2*4 is 8 so the final form should be 2p+8
