Break the problem into its most basic elements. Then just take it a step at a time. The answer is -8x^3.

It may appear different when looking at the whole problem but if you look at the component problems they all are the same. (10x^4y^2)^3 One component is (10x^4)*(10x^4) which equals 100x^8 (100x^8)*(10x^4) = 1000x^12 If you solve the problem but its smallest pieces it is quite simple.
